Song of Solomon 6

Mutual Delight in Each Other

1
CHORUS
,
bWhere has your beloved gone,
O cmost beautiful among women?
Where has your beloved turned,
That we may seek him with you?”

2
BRIDE
My beloved has gone down to his egarden,
To the fbeds of balsam,
To gpasture his flock in the gardens
And gather hlilies.
3 iI am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine,
He who jpastures his flock among the lilies.”

4
BRIDEGROOM
,
lYou are as beautiful as mTirzah, my darling,
As nlovely as oJerusalem,
As pawesome as
Lit bannered ones
an army with banners.
5Turn your eyes away from me,
For they have confused me;
rYour hair is like a flock of goats
That have descended from Gilead.
6 sYour teeth are like a flock of ewes
Which have come up from their washing,
All of which bear twins,
And not one among them has
Or miscarried
lost her young.
7 uYour temples are like a slice of a pomegranate
Behind your veil.
8There are sixty vqueens and eighty concubines,
And
Or virgins
,
xmaidens without number;
9 But ymy dove, my perfect one, is
Lit one
unique:
She is her mother’s
Lit one
only daughter;
She is the pure child of the one who bore her.
The
Lit daughters
,
acmaidens saw her and called her blessed,
The adqueens and the concubines also, and they praised her, saying,

10Who is this that
Lit looks down
grows like the dawn,
As beautiful as the full afmoon,
As pure agas the sun,
As ahawesome as
Lit bannered ones
an army with banners?’
11I went down to the orchard of nut trees
To see the blossoms of the valley,
To see whether ajthe vine had budded
Or the akpomegranates had bloomed.
12Before I was aware, my soul set me
Over the chariots of
Another reading is Ammi-nadib
my noble people.”

13
CHORUS
,
Ch 7:1 in Heb
Come back, come back, O Shulammite;
Come back, come back, that we may gaze at you!”

BRIDEGROOM
Why should you gaze at the Shulammite,
As at the apdance of
Or Mahanaim
,
arthe two companies?
